Our story

A life-changing experience reshaped the company.

Patrick Fleming entered the profession after a high-level athletic career that included five years of professional football in the CFL. When he started Fleming Fitness in 2007, the original plan centred on training athletes, but that changed in 2008 when he was referred his first motor vehicle accident victim.

Working with the MVA client who had experienced a catastrophic motor vehicle accident completely changed the direction of the company. The client was managing serious health challenges and had been told that walking down the stairs again was unlikely. With patient, individualized work, she later reached that goal. The experience shifted Fleming Fitness toward injury rehabilitation, function and long-term health.

The practice grew from mobile, one-to-one kinesiology and personal training into a broader team serving clients at the Kanata clinic, in the communities of Ottawa, Kingston and surrounding areas, and online.
